Chairs, and the hand of God

A week ago I got a message from a long-time supporter: Carnival Cruise Line had several hundred chairs that were surplus, and would we be interested? I knew that one of our ministry partners, Vista de la Valle Calvary Church was being reconstructed. I called, to find that they would eventually need chairs, but not right now. However, there is a church plant in Playas de Tijuana that needs everything, and I should check out their website. I did, to discover on that very day the pastor had asked for donations to purchase - you guessed it - chairs!

There were a lot of moving parts, but in the end we got chairs offloaded from a ship in Long Beach harbor, transported to San Diego and tucked away in temporary storage awaiting customs clearance. Thanks to (a partial list) Steven Terwiske, Stericycle, Inc, Carnival Cruise Line, A&O Freight, John Morrow, NG Trucking, Marcos Lopez, Pilot Freight, Cindy Pesina and Pastor David Wilson for answering His call.

And thank you, all of you who have supported the Hilarious Givers mission. Without your continued financial help and prayers, the new church would still be raising money to purchase chairs, and the Good News of a great and generous God would not reach as many ears.
