Feed My Starving Children Annual Meeting
Last week I had the privilege of attending the Feed My Starving Children annual meeting in Ft. Lauderdale. Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is one of our most important donors and supporters. Each year we receive, free of charge, fortified rice and soy packets from them. If you are one of our supported feeding programs, you are familiar with this blessing - FMSC donates the MANNA PACKS you receive. Last year, we received and distributed over a million servings in Baja to deserving kids and their families.
Every year I recieve an invitaiton to attend, and every year I decide that the time and money we would spend would better be applied elsewhere. And, it turns out, every year I have made the same bad decision!
I had the real blessing to mix with nearly 200 other missionaries, providers and staff members of FMSC. Every person with whom I had a chance to talk gave some bit (and some gave a lot) of information that will make Hilarious Givers a more responsive, giving and meaningful organization.
Near the end of the meeting, there was an opportunity to request an additional 40' container of Manna, over and above our annual allocation, which has not been distributed during 2014. There were 20 available, and, as you might imagine, lots of organizations requested one. Hilarious Givers was selected as one of the beneficiaries! So, thanks to our generous supporters we will be able to bless our kids with an additional 274,000 meals this year.
So thanks to FMSC, and thanks to all of you who support the work Hilarious Givers is doing.
